Application Guidelines

Kothmale Interational Training Institute for Irrigation Technology is a government institute that is governed under Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission for National Vocational Qualification Level 6. (NVQ-6) Regitsrations are now open for the 3 year full-time course of Higher National Diploma in Irrigation Technology which is offered to qualified unmarried Sri Lankan candidates. This course includes a 2 year residetial training and a 1 year field training.

Minimum Requirements

  • Should have passed G.C.E. (O/L) examination with a 'C' pass for English
  • Should have passed G.C.E. (A/L) examination in physical science stream including passes for all three subjects in one sitting
  • Applicant should be under 25 years of age to the date of closing applications and should have a good health physical and mental condition

Process of Registration for The Training

  • Applicants should face to a written aptitude test that includes questions related to mathematics, general knowledge and intelligence test. Examinatin duration is 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • Applicants who pass the written aptitude test will be called for an interview.
  • Applicants who score the highest marks in the written aptitude test and the interview will be selected for the course.

Application Process

  • Application can be submitted online through the official website of the institute. Use the 'Apply Now' button at the bottom of the page to submit your application.
  • Application should be filled in English language.
  • Application deadline is 25th July of 2024
  • For the confrmation of education qualifications, applicants should submit the scanned certificates of G.C.E. (O/L) and G.C.E. (A/L) examinations along with the application. For age confrmation applicants should submit a scanned copy of the birth certificate. All the scanned documents should be in PDF format.

Special Conditions

  • Training course will be conducted in English language. Therefore, applicants should have a good knowledge in English language.
  • The total cost for the training will be supplied by the government of Sri Lanka including hostel facilities. But expenses for food, physical and other personal expenses should be borne by the student.
  • Selected applicants should sign to a agreement that agrees to complete the complete course program within the allocated time duration while respecting rules and regulations of the institute.
  • If any applicant willing to end up the course before the allocated time period, he/she must completely refund the amount that government spent for him/her during the course program. Applicant should agree to that agreement before the enrollment to the course.
  • A NVQ-6 certificate will be issued to students who qualify after examinations held in every semester, every year and after the final written and practical examination held at the end of the course. The ministry or the institue is not bound to offer occupations for the students after the course.
  • Applicants should not be registered to any other higher education course
